Sometimes however, you may find yourself in a bit of a slump where you don't feel like returning to running at all! This is totally okay and probably a sign that you need a mental break from running just as much as the physical breather. Once you decided that enough downtime has been had, you may still require a bit of assistance to get going again, so here's my top 5 tips to help get you out the door for a run.
Good luck!

I love to run!
Do you have any tips to share to help with motivation and accountability?
Consistency is the secret sauce to everything. Motivation is a bit like the crappy boyfriend who is never there for you!
What's your favourite RunFaster print and/or style?
Picasso has been my favourite so far, but I love so many of the patterns. I love the short shorts with pockets.

For some the pelvic floor muscle can be tight, yes contrary to belief some women suffer from a pelvic floor muscle that works over time this can cause discomfort during sex. But for the majority of the time women in particular suffer from a weak pelvic floor muscle, which often has discussions around LBL (light bladder leakage). When the pelvic floor is weakened, most often after child birth, we can end up with leaking urine during exercise as the muscle isn’t able to support the organs it is holding inside our pelvis. LBL is most common in women and can be treated. The outcomes from treatment are better when treatment starts early, however we can do a little bit each day to help support and strengthen our pelvic floor and keep LBL at bay.
Strong core, strong pelvic floor!
Here’s how Pilates can help with your pelvic floor:
Hopefully with better awareness of pelvic floor dysfunction we can reduce the stigma and lack of discussion around such a common condition suffered daily by women and break down barriers that may be holding you back from getting back to doing the things you love!

Tell us a bit about you.
What is there to know about me…. well for starters I LOVE to run! I like to laugh, joke and I don’t take myself too seriously.
I’m a Mum of two, and work full-time in cancer care. I haven’t always been a runner or active… after having my children I decided to change my lifestyle to show my children what it was to be healthy and active.
I love exercise and playing with my children, whether it be netball or football or just running around with them. parkrun is a family outing every week for both the exercise and the social aspect, we have so many amazing friends from parkrun.
I have had a few injuries over the years (currently a torn hamstring!!) so I also try and fit in some strength work in the gym between work, mum-life and kids' sport.
My biggest joy is from seeing others tick of their goals they’ve been working towards. 🙂
What keeps you fit and active?
I decided after having my two children that I needed to be a better role model for them and show them what it is to live a healthy balanced lifestyle. I found a love of running and now my whole family enjoys running and being active together.
Do you have any tips to share to help with motivation and accountability?
Remember your why. Whenever I feel unmotivated I remind myself why I am doing this, and it helps to refocus and gain perspective. I find setting myself goals, big or small helps too.
What's your favourite RunFaster print and/or style?
Oh that is a hard one!! That’s like asking me to choose my favourite child!! I’m definitely a mid waist, mid length short kinda gal, and love the signature fabric. The best bit is being able to twin with my daughter.
Any other stories or comments?
I’ve only been running a short time (7 years) and prior to that I wasn’t living an active lifestyle. I had a few health issues and having kids was the turning point, I realised I needed to make a change. I lost 30kg, started exercising and haven’t looked back. I went from not being able to run to the end of my street to running marathons, ultra marathons, qualifying for events and chipping away at my times.
